Yutaka Binchotan charcoal is a premium quality charcoal that is traditionally used in Japanese BBQ. Free from chemicals, it burns cleanly and evenly, making it particularly efficient, and ideal for preserving the complex and often delicate flavours of Japanese cuisine. Unlike other types of charcoal, it will burn for 3-5 hours and can be relit 2-3 times.
Binchotan charcoal is ideal for cooking delicate fish, yakitori or kushiyaki.
This charcoal takes the form of the wood it was made from (log shapes around 4cm wide), ideal for a Japanese Konro grill, or use in your conventional BBQ.
